

On June 1, 1947, a baby boy was born to Douglas Sr. and Vera Lee Hudson. He was one of six children. He graduated from Jack Yates Sr High School, Houston, Texas.
As a young man, Lloyd Sr. married Glory J. Green. To this union two children were born, Rarshunda and Lloyd Jr. He also had one son, Mark Brown.
In service to his country, Lloyd Sr. was drafted into the United States Army. His bravery and fortitude enabled him to serve alongside other African American soldiers in the Vietnam War. In honor of his top talent and meritorious service, he received several commendations - National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device, Good Conduct Medal, and Marksman Rifle. Upon returning home, he was an exemplary employee at Texas Iron Workers for many years in Houston, Texas.
Lloyd Sr. is preceded in death by his parents – Douglas Sr and Vera Lee Hudson, sister Eula Lee Byrd, brothers Douglas Jr and Leroy. He leaves to cherish his memory – devoted daughter Rarshunda Phillips (Dr. Tricia Phillips), two sons Mark Brown and Lloyd Jr., six grandchildren – Marquis, Alicia, Marc, and Fantasia Brown; Kendall Phillips, and Brayden Hudson; three great grandchildren; and his sisters, Shirley Chaison (Rodney) and Patricia Mason.
