Loi Van Nguyen (1957–2024), age 67, of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2024, due to a heart attack. He was born on March 5, 1957, in Vietnam and emigrated to the United States as a refugee following the Vietnam War, seeking peace and a better future.
Loi was a hardworking individual, widely recognized for his exceptional skills as a pool player and professional poker player. Known for his vibrant personality, Loi was the life of the party among his friends.
His infectious smile could light up any room, and his distinct voice was instantly recognizable in any crowd.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Mai Nguyen; his children, Katherine Sebesta, Arlene Paningbatan, Michael Nguyen, Kieu Diem Luu, and Phuc Hoang Nguyen; and his cherished grandchildren, Michelle Nguyen, Felix Nguyen, James Sebesta, Alistair Luu, and Adelaide Luu.
