

with Lorita, known as “Blackgirl” by her family and friends.
Lorita was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was the third
of four children, Felton Charles, Elton Charles and Agnes
Charles Solomon. She was raised and attended school in
Lafayette, Louisiana.
Lorita later moved to Houston, TX. She was united in Holy
Matrimony to Albert Sr. They were married for 50 years. To this
union five children were born: Albert Jr., Katherine Prejean,
George Prejean, Lorena Prejean and Dorothy Prejean-House.
During this time, Lorita obtained her GED. She was a dedicated
member at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church for 50 years and a
faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked
as a secretary for the family owned business, A&G Asphalt and
Paving.
Lorita was known for her unique way of letting you know
exactly how she felt about you and didn’t hold back. She
departed this earthly life on March 27, 2025.
Lorita is preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Albert Prejean Sr.; children, Albert, Katherine and Lorena;
Siblings, Elton and Felton Charles.
Lorita leaves her precious memories: Son, George Prejean
(Kathy), Daughter, Dorothy Prejean-House; Grandchildren:
Mokahanna (Stephen Sr.), Kayla Gordon (Kevin), Brandon
Martin (Elon), Dedrick Richardson; Great Grands: Winston,
Grace, Stephen Jr., Harrison, Jhaniya, Ayden, Raelynn. A
host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her presence will be missed.
