Louis was born in Houston on March 18, 1949 to Hilario and Rafaela De La Paz. He attended Cy-Fair High School and earned certification as an auto mechanic specializing in European cars.
He enjoyed fishing and crafting wood designs. Always quick-witted, he liked to charm the ladies, change words to songs to something funny, and gave everyone a nickname.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma E. De La Paz; his brothers, Hilario De La Paz, Jr and Raymond “Crow” De La Paz. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Louis C. De La Paz and his wife Diana, and Contessa Waymire and her husband Justin; his grandchildren, Julia Sandoval, Tucker Waymire, Garrett Waymire, Isabella Waymire and Benjamin Waymire; his siblings, Robert De La Paz, Alfred De La Paz, Ernest De La Paz, Neva Coursey and Juanita Fullherson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service is at 10:00am on Saturday, March 30th, in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston.
Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Willie Gomez, Jesse Vela, David Vela, Boyce Weiman, Guadalupe DeLoer and Ed Pietrowski.
At 3:00 that afternoon, the family will gather to share remembrances of Louis during a reception at a location to be announced during the services.
