Mr. Louis Thyvalappil, affectionately known as Louis Uncle, Appacha, Dad, and Papa, was born on February 10th, 1937 to Antony and Rosa in Irinjalakuda, Kerala, India. He died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on August 13th, 2025, at the age of 88.
Louis was the youngest of five siblings. At a young age he quickly developed an interest in engineering, eventually earning his degree in the subject and working for the Indian Railway as a Telecommunications Engineer. As a young man, he met Treasa and instantly fell in love. Louis truly adored Treasa, and through their fifty-seven years of happily married life, they went on to have three sons. As their children grew older, Louis and Treasa made the decision to move to America in order to provide a better life for their children.
After moving to America, Louis worked for twenty-four years as a Telecommunications Engineer. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his hard work, intelligence, and perseverance on numerous occasions, eventually retiring at the age of 66 in 2003.
After retirement, Louis enjoyed working in his garden, fixing things around the house, spending time with his beloved wife, and doting on his grandkids. He also enjoyed visiting India regularly and supporting his relatives there.
Louis is survived by his wife, Treasa Louis; their sons, Anthony, Joseph, and George Louis; their daughter-in-laws, Deepa and Lisa Louis; and their six grandchildren, Sophia, Jacob, Isabelle, Gabrielle, Rachel, and William Louis.
Louis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be remembered for his kind countenance, dedicated service towards others, and his loving, gentle soul. Our hearts are heavy, but we are rejoicing that he is at peace and in heaven with his loving Lord and Savior.
