Louis Joseph Meotti

LOUIS JOSEPH MEOTTI, 95, passed away on March 22, 2010. Lou was born on November 21, 1914 in New Britain, Connecticut. Lou was preceded in death by his brother, Nello, his parents, Roger and Afra, and his wife of 37 years, Irma. He is survived by his daughter Marsha Fleifel and her husband, Mike, of Houston, Texas and his son Marc Meotti and his wife, Katherine, of Hudson, Florida. Lou was an outstanding athlete in high school and college, lettering in three sports. He received a Master's degree from NYU and 30 credits beyond from Central Connecticut State University. Lou served his country in the US Army from June 1941 October 1945 and had a career as an Industrial Arts teacher in New Jersey and Connecticut. Lou enjoyed woodworking, creating pewter pieces, sports and Bridge. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and Bridge players at the Tracy Gee Community Center who shared their Thursday afternoons with him.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 4 PM at the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX. 77077, with the Rev. Steven Simon officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Lou's name to Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, 14200 Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77079.
