Louis Vega

Louis Vega, age 81, of Houston, Texas returned to the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his first wife Ramona G. Vega, his parents Anselmo and Felicita Vega, brothers Celedonio and Angel Vega, sister Angelita Vega, and daughter Ruby Davalos.

He is survived by his brothers, Laurino (Bobby) Vega, and Domingo Vega, his wife Odelia Yanez, his children, Kristina Vega, Patricia Duron, Louis Vega Jr. (Natalia Gomez), Andrew Vega, and Renesmee Duron (Angel), his stepdaughters, Tracey Trevino (David Becerra), Kathryn Martinez (Paul Martinez), Elisa Valadez (Raymond Valdez), JoRae Navarro (Carlos Lopez), his grandchildren, Michael Jones (Kristen Jones), Ervin Jones, Anthony Duron, Daniel Duron (Rita Duron), Krystal Alaniz (Steven Alaniz), Jessie Davalos Jr., Elizabeth Kotun (Rasaq Kotun), Amber Davalos (JC), Maya Vega, Hannah Vega, Ruby Rose Vega, his great-grandchildren, Destiny, Nathan, Catherine, Alize, Victoria, Annabella, Ivan Daniel II, Isabella, Achilles, 13 step-grandchildren, 16 step-greatgrandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Louis was devoted to his faith in God and encouraged his family to develop their own relationship through prayer and service. He was an advocate of family and cultural history. He was the one you turned to if you ever wanted to know when someone was born or where they lived. He loved his children to a fault. They would be the first to say that he wasn’t perfect but he was always a supporter of their dreams. He was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of his hour-long phone calls that always included a story or two about his childhood and family adventures.

A visitation for Louis will be held Monday, November 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A rosary will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022.
