Born on August 31, 1939, in Laren, Netherlands, Louisa brought warmth, joy, and a vibrant spirit into the world. In her early twenties, she immigrated to the United States in pursuit of the American dream—a journey defined by courage, resilience, and hope.
Her life was a beautiful blend of Dutch heritage and American spirit, and she embraced both with pride and grace.
Louisa was the heart of every gathering, known for her infectious laughter, boundless energy, stickies and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was fishing in Galveston every weekend she could go. She was truly the life of the party, lighting up every room she entered with her presence.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Edward Watkins; her loving children, Patricia and her husband Victor, Francois and his wife Angela, and Cliff and his husband Christopher; her bonus children, Dana Warder and Van Arnold; her adored grandchildren, Hollie, Lindsay, Madeleine and Spencer; her entire Dutch family back in the Netherlands and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Louisa’s legacy lives on in each of them, through the love, joy, and strength she instilled.
