Louise was born on the 13th of October 1958, in Austin, to Louis Scott Wilkerson and Florence Benson Wilkerson. Louise graduated from Austin High School in 1977 and, in 1981, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Louise worked as a paralegal for Baker Botts prior to earning her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1987. She practiced Trusts, Estates and Probate Law for Andrews Kurth from 1987 to 1996 and returned in 2011, practicing until September of 2015 when she became ill. Louise enjoyed her law practice and was respected and admired by her colleagues and clients. Louise was a member of the Junior League of Houston, past board member of the Clayton Dabney Foundation and a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend, Louise always put her family first. Her greatest joys were annual family ski trips to Deer Valley, Utah, and summers in Watercolor, Florida. Most recently, Louise was blessed by the birth of her granddaughter, Ellie Grace Brollier. Known for her great sense of humor, dry wit and love for life, Louise didn’t sweat the small stuff; a virtue she has taught her children well.
Louise is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Florence Wilkerson; and her eldest sister, Marianne Wilkerson Jackson; and by her mother-in-law, Marilyn Oden Brollier. She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Charles Stephen Brollier, of Houston; her son, John Louis Brollier, his wife, Lauren, and granddaughter, Ellie; her son, Benjamin Walker Brollier, and his fiancé, Courtney Corinne Wood; and her daughter, Mary Virginia Brollier; her sisters, Diane Wilkerson Douglas and her husband, Todd, Florence (Cissy) Wilkerson Erwin and her husband, Mike, all of Austin; her father-in-law, Ben Anthony Brollier and his wife, Joan; her brother-in-law, David Sydnor Brollier and his wife, Debbie; her sister-in-law, Carol Brollier Deason and her husband, Brad, all of Houston; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Blanca Aceituj for her devotion and loving care over her many years with the family and especially during the course of Louise’s illness.
Following a private inurnment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, a memorial service and celebration of Louise’s life is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 22nd of July, at the Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston, where the Rev. Dr. Clay Lein, Rector, will officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the adjacent Sumners Hall.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, memorial contributions may be directed to Texas Children Hospital, Attn: Lisa McCoy, 6701 Fannin St., Ste. 1500.10, Houston, TX, 77030, in memory of Louise Brollier for the Osteosarcoma Program; or to Clayton Dabney For Kids with Cancer, 11 Greenway Plaza, Ste. 3175, Houston, TX, 77046.
The dignity and grace with which Louise faced her illness will inspire her family and her friends always.
