Lourdes "Lulu" Olvera Quintana

Lourdes “Lulú” Olvera Rivera, 68, of Dallas, Texas, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2026.

Lulú was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria de Guadalupe Quintana Olvera.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters, Chrystal Aldaco and Christina Aldaco; her six cherished grandchildren, Clarisa, Xavier, Alyssa, Desarae, Cirilo, and Dezmond; and her precious great-grandchild, Mikiyel. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Gabriel, Juan Manuel, Jose Alejandro, Socorro, Jose de Jesus, Salvador, and Andres, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Lulú attended Jeff Davis High School, where, during her senior year, she enrolled in the Vocational Office Education (VOE) program. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on job training, the program opened the door to an extraordinary career that would span 45 years with the same employer.

For 45 years, Lulú dedicated herself to her career with AAA, where she served as an administrative secretary to one of the organization’s directors at its Houston headquarters. Throughout her career, she witnessed the transformation of the modern workplace as IBM computers were introduced into corporate offices during the 1980s. Long before computers became commonplace, Lulú had mastered shorthand, a skill that reflected her dedication, professionalism, and exceptional attention to detail. She was known not only as a dependable, caring, and reliable employee, but also as a treasured friend to many of her coworkers. She took great pride in volunteering each year at AAA’s annual Christmas Arts and Crafts event, finding joy in giving back to others. Her loyalty, integrity, and quiet excellence earned the respect and admiration of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her.

A devoted Catholic throughout her life, Lulú faithfully attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, where she also served as the church secretary. She lived her faith through service, and during the annual church bazaars, she and her sister could always be found outside after every Mass joyfully selling raffle tickets, generously volunteering their time in support of their parish community.

After marrying and raising her beloved daughters, Chrystal and Christina, Lulú became a dedicated Girl Scout leader. She especially enjoyed serving as the troop’s Cookie Manager and treasured taking the girls on camping adventures, creating cherished memories and teaching valuable lessons that would last a lifetime.

As the years passed, Lulú became much more than an older sister. She was a second mother, a trusted advisor, a steady source of strength, and the heart that helped keep her family connected. Like her mother before her, she believed deeply in the importance of family. Her determination and gentle persistence were instrumental in bringing everyone together for the Olvera Family Reunion in March, a gathering that became a treasured gift to the entire family and one that her loved ones will forever cherish.

To her family and friends, Lulú was so much more than her accomplishments. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness knew no bounds. She was supportive, compassionate, and never judgmental, always ready to help anyone who needed her. If someone called, she was there without hesitation. She expressed her love not through words alone but through thoughtful acts of kindness, selfless service, and unwavering generosity. Her quiet strength and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Lulú found peace and happiness outdoors, lovingly tending to her yard, where she could often be found enjoying the beauty of nature. She celebrated life’s joys, both big and small, and made everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved. Her warmth, wisdom, and generous heart created a home where family always came first.

Lulú wore many titles throughout her life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, mentor, volunteer, and faithful servant of God. She embraced each role with humility, grace, and unconditional love. Her legacy is one of faith, service, generosity, and family. Her warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

A Funeral Mass will take place Friday, July 10, 2026 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 2405 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. Following, visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003, US, on July 10, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:00 pm (next day).

A Rosary will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003, US, on July 10, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
