Lucia Altamirano Landrito

Lucia was born and raised in Manila, Philippines on March 4, 1936. She is predeceased by her parents Roman and Jovita Altamirano. She was one of seven children and loved by her siblings: Rafael Altamirano, Saturnino Altamirano, Donna Kowal, Natalia Encarnacion, Sylvestre Altamirano and Ernie Altamirano. She married her husband, Amador Landrito Sr, with whom she traveled the world, living in Laos and Chicago before settling in Houston. Together, they had four children: Margarito Landrito with his wife Josephine Landrito, Maurito Landrito with his wife Norma Landrito, Amador Landrito Jr with his wife Libia Ruby Landrito, and Amabelle Cowan with her husband Guy Cowan.

She loved spending time in the kitchen and made countless delicious meals for family and friends. From empanadas and eggrolls to noodles and stews, everyone felt the love and care that she expressed through her dishes. She also enjoyed gardening with an impressive green thumb, and she had an affinity for dogs, often naming numerous of them ‘Prince or Princess’ no matter what the breed. Most weekends, she would spend visiting her grandchildren, going to many dim sum brunches and being behind Homeplate watching her grandson Landon play baseball. She was an avid Houston Rockets fan and you would often hear her a mile away screaming to “get the ball”!

She is survived by three of her children and their spouses, her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Leandro Landrito, Ariel Landrito with great grandchild Mateo, Martin Landrito, Margaret Barfield and husband Erick Barfield with great grandchildren Markos and EmmaLea, Patrick Landrito, Tracey Landrito, Joanne Landrito Wrinkle and husband Dalton Wrinkle, Ryan Landrito, and Landon Cowan.
