Dear Lucy ! 
When I came into your family you welcomed me with open arms, I always felt loved by you and I will cherish that for the rest of my life.  In you I found the warmth of a mother and grandmother when I was missing mine. I promise to think of you with joy and wipe the tears away; because I truly believe what I said to you the last time we were together. You said to me “mamita esta es la última vez que estamos juntas” (mamita this is the last time we are together) and I said to you  “No Lucy ! We will always be together, we are just going to be in different dimensions”. Every time I hear a happy Vallenato I will feel your presence … every time I hear your great-grandson  saying  funny jokes, I will think that he gets some of that from grandma Lucy ! Thank you for loving me and loving my son the way you did ! Thank you for all the times you showed me your special dance moves… thank you for being you and for allowing me to love you like my own grandmother!

Lucila, so many memories and moments that we shared during the last forty years. I will never forget the times that we stayed at your home and you walked in the bedroom early in the morning with a huge cup of coffee and a piece of Cake for us, and always making sure that every meal of the day was planned and that everyone got plenty of food.
I always admired your tenacity and appreciate all the efforts that you made to raise your five kids, my wife one of them. I hope you know that you did a great job!

Mother, I have a lot of memories together. I remember when I was a teenager you would get off work and pick me up from school almost every day. I remember taking a trip to San Andres with Oliver and having such a great time. I will miss dancing tango with you the way we did at every party. I will miss calling you every day after work. All these memories will always bring me joy about the life we lived together. This joy will help me get through the pain of losing you. At every party where there is dancing I will remember you and how much you loved to dance. I love you so much and miss you.

Abuelita, I will always cherish all the moments we used to spend together. I will always remember being little and hearing you come up the stairs and getting to excited to see you and spend time with you.  I remember peeling peas pods next to the window, the time we spent in Alvin, when you came to visit us in Colombia, the moment we just to spend grocery shopping and having lunch afterward, the happiness when we watched the Colombian game at the Colombian restaurant, and especially all the times we traveled together or when we used to go grocery shopping together. Whenever I watch novelas I will think of all the times we watched them together at my house. I will always have you in my heart and in my mind. I love you forever Abuelita.

Lucilita siempre te recordaremos con mucho cariño, a Lucilita le encantaba bailar, era una buena persona,  muy alegra y de gran corazón ! Recuerdo cuando me contaba algo me decía “HERMANA” me parecía tan bonita .  Lucilita dejo un gran legado  de unión y amor en su familia . El año pasado con el corona 🦠 virus se sintió triste pero Magdalena su hija le puso un computador en su casa para poder verla y hablar para que se sintiera acompañada de su familia y amigos ! Yo tuve el privilegio de ser su amiga y es difícil decir adiós ! Ahora estás cerca De Dios sin dolores y en un lugar hermoso l Que en Paz descanses Lucilita Bella 🙏🏼❤️ 

Mi Lucy, recuerdo el día que nos conocimos y me dijiste “mija tengo un hijo bien guapo en Houston para que la llame” y ahí empezó mi historia con la familia Cuestas.

My Lucy, I remember the day we met where you told me, “Mija, I have a very handsome son in Houston, let me give him your number,” and that’s where my story with the Cuestas family began. 
We will always remember you as the brave, always elegant, and adoring woman of your family. Thank you for many memories. Until we meet again. We love you

Lucilita realmente siempre la llevo  en mi corazón porque en nuestra juventud  pasamos muy buenos momentos juntas cuando estábamos solteras  las dos aún. Mujer muy bonita , cuerpo muy bonito y  muy elegante .  Recuerdo cómo nos encantaba el baile y la parranda  . Realmente épocas muy hermosas,  hasta  mi cuñada fue, pues  fue novia de uno de mis hermanos (Benjamin) que hoy en día tiene 94 años.  
Después por casualidades de la vida, resultamos también viviendo las dos en Houston, siguiendo a nuestros hijos.

Words can’t describe the love and joy Lucy brought to my life. From teaching me Spanish,  to walking me to my swim practices over the summer, Lucy was like a second grandparent to me . Lucy was someone who NEVER forgot to call me every year to wish me Happy birthday, even as an adult. I will forever cherish and keep her memories in my heart. Love you so much Lucy ❤️

We are forever grateful to have had Lucy in our lives!! She played a crucial and important role for me, my husband Luis and our kids; Alexander and Nicole. We have numerous memories and anecdotes that will keep her alive and in our hearts forever!  One regret.. she didn't show us her dancing skills until much later. Had I known what an incredible dancer she was, I would have insisted on dancing lessons for our family!! Rest in peace Lucy, we love you!

It's difficult to just pick one memory to share. As a child,teenager and adult I truly have endless memories I can recall. One that always stands out from my childhood is my grandma picking me up from the school bus every evening. We would then 
go to the corner store and buy bread and maybe a chocolate bar for me. As we walked back to the house there was a small grass field that grew dandelions and their puffballs. We would both pick one and she would say make a wish as you blow but wait for the wind so it can carry your wish far far away......I will forever remember you Abuelita.
