I am so sorry to have heard this. I will miss our talks filled with the mixture of spunk and truth. She was truly an amazing women. Please take solace in the fact that she touched so many people and will be missed dearly.

Much of who I am is because of this woman.  Strong, independent, stubborn, hard-hearted, tough on the outside/soft on the inside, an animal-lover, sassy, full of heart, fighter, generous, blunt, and not to forget, thick-thighed and big bootied.  It is all owed to her.

Sweet Grannie Crenshaw was so loved and will be so dearly missed. She brought me and everyone she knew so much joy and laughter through her spunky personality! I will miss our visits with her, snacking on ice cream while she showed us the latest pictures of her beloved family, especially her great-grandbabies. Sending prayers of comfort to all of her family and friends, may you find peace in knowing she is now rejoicing with our Lord and watching over you from above.

Ambers, we are so sorry for you loss.   Judy and I have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.   Your mother was a wonderful person. She was always very sweet and kind to me. Grannie Goo - I am having a difficult time finding how to articulate the empty feeling I have. Some of the first items to bless our first home were given by you. I have always thought of you when I use them. They'll be treasures now. We never spent time visiting without you trying to fill our bellies and always filling our hearts through laughter. Indy "ran away" and found her way all the way back to you - after only ever visiting you once! You had that effect... welcoming and doing kind things for those around you (at least the people you liked). My babies grew up playing between Mimi and "Gwannie's" driveways. The memories they and we all have in those driveways are endless and priceless. It was SO hard when you first moved. I missed the birdseed scattered about the driveway the most, of all things. HOWEVER, I loved visiting you at "Brookhell" - with those "old people." Marloe (your favorite) loved it, too. Although, I'm not sure what those "old people" thought of that giant dog in her ridiculous Christmas dress? I'm so thankful for all of these memories. Speaking of - your memory was like a safe! I haven't ever met anyone who could remember dates like you could! You even knew the birthdays of my friends' babies! At our last visit, before we left for our vacation, you told me, "drive safe... don't drive too fast... make sure she (Vicki) behaves..." You also made me laugh so hard that I still crack up when I think about it. I'll never see: my favorite pasta spoon, a Boston Terrier, the pretty plant in your old yard (that I can never remember the name of), Popeyes chicken, bird seed, a little green truck, those random shopping magazines or even a silly ol' coupon again without thinking of you. "Well, like I say," I love and miss you like CRAZY. We all will.

Granny goo I will miss you terribly! I remember when Jessica smith was born and she cried a lot and my
Mom came to visit and you took my mom to lunch, after my mom left you showed me how to feed Jessica as I was all alone raising her!  Granny goo you showed me how to give her rice cereal in her bottle so she would sleep all night so I could go to work. Oh my gosh the lunches you made us Vicki and I when we came for lunch to see you! You were and are the best granny goo ever and I will see you again I love you forever

Your Mom was such a good person, she always made me laugh.  She truly loved all her children so and took such good care of Allison when she was a baby.  I know she is having a great reunion with your Dad and all her beloved pets!

Miss Vicki, our hearts go out to You and Your Family, for the loss of Your Mom, she was a incredible Mom and Friend to all she met. May she rest in peace in the serenity of heaven.

I miss my Momma!  Sometimes when I think about Momma being gone, it is almost suffocating to me.  But I know that she is in a much better place and is no longer suffering or being moved around. 
The last three months were tough on Mom.  But she never complained.  She  just kept going and doing what she needed to do to get better - to get home.  Little did we know that Mom would go to her Heavenly home.
The three of us kids grew up with our Momma & Daddy working hard to give us everything we needed and more.  We went to private school for a while; camped at Garner State Park a couple times every summer; went to Austin when CyFair's basketball team went to State; attended church and Sunday School; said yes sir/mam; went to the drive-in theater...we had a great childhood - because we had great parents!
We lost Daddy over 30 years ago, but Mom just carried on - doing what had to be done.  When I think about all the things she had to do on her own, I'm ashamed that we didn't get more involved. 
Momma was one tough cookie.  But she was also the most generous person I've ever met.  Mom lived her life for others.  Never for herself!  She loved us three kids, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.  Momma loved us unconditionally.
How can we say goodbye to someone who has been there for us every day of our life?!  Momma, I know I always told you that I loved you.  Now I truly feel the depth of that love and the void I will have in my life without you. I will miss you every day, Goo!  I rejoice in knowing that I will see you again.

First of all let me offer sincere condolences to my BFF Vicki, Valerie and Bubba. I have known Goo for so long, I loved her wit, attitude and kindness. I loved living down the street from her and Vicki. If she was outside I would stop my vehicle to talk to her.  She was so nice to me and I often thought how lucky Vicki was to have her for so long and right next door. I was especially jealous of  her storage  room that  Vicki used to store her Christmas decorations in!  She babysat my niece when she was a baby (32 years ago) and took such good care of her (thanks  for spoiling her).
Grannie Goo I love you, and I know you are in God's hands now. Rest In Peace sweet Goo, until we meet again. Love you and your family.

My heart is heavy. Such a lovely person your Mom and Grandmother was. I am blessed to have been a part of her life. She was so full of life until the very end. Our last visit was like it was yesterday, she talked about how she loved sitting outside enjoying the goats next door! I will miss our visits, enjoying the birds as we sat outside on the porch, our little secrets we shared, our Oreo cookie blizzards, showing off pictures of Ethan, Addy, and Braxton, and the amazing stories she told me of her and Crenshaw and all of you in the good ole days.  She loved telling those deer lease stories too and she could remember where and what time and date it took place! I can also remember when our baby girl Ashley was born, she was the proudest Goo ever! Her pride and joy. Then came along baby boy Ben! I remember when he fell off his tractor in the ditch and cried but as soon as she told him to get up he quit crying instantly! He loved his Goo so much and Goo loved spoiling them!

I know the heart of grief is the most difficult challenge but take comfort in knowing she is in the loving arms of her Savior - pain free. I am praying for peace and comfort for all of her family.
 
I miss YOU so much already! I will always love you my Sweet Lucille!

Photo is of Momma and me several years ago taken at a restaurant in The Heights. It was a great day visiting with friends while driving through areas she and Ann Chennault hadn't visited in many years. Our mothers told Shari and I stories from their younger lives in Houston, shaking their heads over all the new developments within the loop.

Mom was always independent, handling necessary decisions and getting on with her own business. If asked she helped; or quietly did something to smooth the process. She told us her opinion often but avoided hurting others' feelings. She remembered everything and would bring up our past at the times others could laugh the most. As children she made our dresses with matching shirts for Bubba as well as cooking, handling laundry, working in the yard, and working for Spring Branch School District first in a cafeteria & then as a special ed bus driver. She always made time for her kids, sitting with me through high school football games, going camping and whatever else came up. She loved our pets, especially the various Boston Terriers and the goats.

She adored and loved Ashley & Ben the grandchildren she spent so much time with and spoiled rotten with clothing, video movies and fast food lunches.

I'll miss you.
