Lucille Vandenberg Hunt

Lucille moved to Dallas, Texas in her early twenties where she met Emmett at Munger Street Baptist Church. They fell in love and married October 18, 1950. They had a double wedding with her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Bill Dolislager, in Immanuel Christian Church in Muskegon, Michigan.

Lucille could do anything she set her mind to do. She could sew – she made the boys suits and Ann’s dresses as they were growing up. She made a suit for herself as well. She could wallpaper with the best. Emmett always had a garden and she would can and freeze all the vegetables. She was a great cook and made all of her baked goods from scratch.

She loved to travel and over her lifetime had been to all but a few states. She loved spending time with family and extended family.

She loved the Lord with all her heart. She left a legacy of daily private time with the Lord, as well as making time for a family devotion each day.

Lucille leaves behind to cherich her memory, her children, Terry Hunt and his wife, Cathy, Randy Hunt and his wife, Janet, and Ann Aguilar and her husband, Louis; her grandchildren, Amanda Aguilar and her husband, Davis Vivas, Sara Longoria, Jayme Hunt, Chelsea Overhuls and her husband, David, Casey Hunt and Jeffrey Hunt; her great-grandchildren, Cali Aguilar, Orlando Longoria, Jr. and Avery Overhuls; her sister, Margaret Dolislager and much loved extended family.

Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett L. Hunt (December 27, 2012), and her brother, William Harold Vandenberg (November 29, 1927).

Viewing will be held at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Officiants are Jaime Garcia and Jeff Campbell. Interment will be follow at Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers are Casey Hunt, Jeffrey Hunt, David Overhuls, Davis Aguilar, Orlando Longoria, Jr., John Jackson and Michael Kilpatrick.
