Lucy Lynn Todd Litowitz, age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2021 after a 15-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born October 6, 1951 in Austin, TX, the youngest of four daughters to Berger Eugene Todd and Lois Von Rosenberg Todd. Lucy grew up in La Grange, TX and quickly learned the virtues of a loving family and friendships brought on by her infectious laugh and smile, coupled with her strong desire to take care of anybody and everybody that was in need. She loved music, both singing and playing the piano and guitar from an early age on. She quickly rose the ranks at La Grange High School and graduated in 1970 with numerous accolades; Miss La Grange High School, Secretary of the Class, and Best All Around, to name a few.
Lucy was certainly a free spirit and after her first year at the University of Texas, decided to move to Houston to pursue other interests. It was during this time of her life that Lucy came to know the Lord Jesus through a personal salvation and her life would never again be the same. Her priority and focus in life was “no longer I but Christ” and she went on to be a conduit of the Gospel of Christ, touching and introducing so many other lives to Christ’s life during her lifetime.
In 1987 she met the love of her life, Gary Litowitz, and they quickly married in August of 1987. They were happily married for 33 years. Lucy went on to graduate from the University of Houston with both a BA and Master’s in Education, which led to a successful teaching career. She loved to teach and ultimately instructed English as a Second Language to immigrant students from all over the world for many years at both Rice University and Houston Community College. Naturally, her skill for teaching and love of people went hand and hand as Lucy always had an open-door policy at her home for students that wanted to come over for a home cooked meal and fellowship.
Lucy’s pride and joy were her two sons, Sasan Bahrami (born 1976) and Cyrus Bahrami (born 1980). She took no other responsibility more serious than raising her two boys and loved being there for all the major events in their life. Some of her best memories were traveling with her boys and exploring new places all over the states and globe.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Von Rosenberg Todd and Berger Eugene Todd; two sisters, Kathlyn Todd and Terrye Todd Bohot; and her favorite three dogs, Patches, Tyler, and Toby. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary Litowitz of Houston; sons, Sasan Bahrami of Houston, Cyrus Bahrami and wife Katie Azinger Bahrami of Houston; the grandchildren she cherished, Noah Todd Bahrami, Lucie Rene Bahrami, and Charlotte Grace Bahrami; stepson, Brian Litowitz of Austin; sister, Rebeca Todd Koenig of La Grange; stepmom, Mildred Willmann Todd of La Grange; nephews, Shawn Ali Bahrami of Houston, Erik Koenig of Dallas, and Jon Todd Koenig of Austin; ex-husband, Ali Bahrami of Houston; the caretakers and family at Colonial Oaks Memory Care; and countless other family, friends, colleagues, and lives she helped.
