Luis left his native Cuba in October 1966, immigrating by way of Spain with the help of U.S. Senator George Bush, Sr. Once safely in Madrid, he was married by proxy to his beloved wife, Maria and united with her in Houston in November of 1967. He was employed by Dresser Industries for 30 years, working in customer service within their import/export division. His hobbies included model airplanes, vintage cars, photography and exploring new horizons creating everlasting memories on countless cruises with the love of his life, Maria.
