Mr. Luis Angel DeLuna, age 87, of Houston, TX, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026. He was born January 8, 1938, in Laredo, Texas, a son of the late Donisio DeLuna & Cruz Villasenor. He is preceded in death by son, Daniel Garcia, and granddaughter, Michelle Aguilar; two brothers, Ramon & Reymundo DeLuna; and two sisters: Gloria DeLuna & Janie Fuentes.
After graduating from Martin High School in Laredo, TX, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
He married Olivia Meza on February 20, 1973. Luis had a long career as a hairdresser and barber, working at numerous salons in the Houston area. During this time, he also obtained his realtor's license and became a licensed insurance salesman.
Luis enjoyed traveling with Olivia across the country and internationally. He was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church in Houston, TX, attending every Sunday. After church, he liked watching Sunday football. During the week, he often watched an Astros game or a classic black-and-white Western.
He is survived by his wife Olivia M. DeLuna; children, Susan Garcia, Carmen (Jack) Juarez, Evaristo “Ernie” (MaryEllen) Garcia II, Mark (Flora) Aguilar, and Eva (Harry) Barnes; and seventeen grandchildren: Casandra (Ruben), Paul (Jennifer), Jaqueline (Jennifer), Cynthia (Makis), Elizabeth, Candie, Jessica (Adelso), Brandon (Amy), Jennifer (Eric), Johnathan, Christopher, Jessica (Henry), Christian (Angela), Daniel, Robert (Kiera), and Eric. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, located at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas, 77003, on January 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A chapel service will follow at the same location on January 12, 2026, starting at 12:00 pm.
The committal service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas, 77038, on January 12, 2026, from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm.
Pallbearers include Paul Navejar, Johnathan Navejar, Christopher Syon, Christian Syon, Robert Newton, Brandon Garcia, Zachery Chavez, and Nathan Chavez.
Honorary pallbearers are Ernie Garcia, Mark Aguilar, Jack Juarez, Harry Barnes, Matthew Chavez, and Ruben Chavez.
Luis Angel De Luna was a resident of Houston, Texas.
