Luke was born in Humble, Texas but raised in Crosby Texas where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, St. Joseph Catholic School, Crosby Middle and High School. Through those years he met lifelong friends. He was the youngest boy of four children but could find a place to fit in with any age group.
He was an active young man- hated being inside. He loved the outdoors and any activity or sport that went along with that. He loved to hunt, fish, build, or create and just really liked to stay busy. He lived as if he was 8ft tall and afraid of nothing. Sometimes that worked well for him – sometimes not. He was a risk taker, hard worker, and had a great work ethic.
These attributes allowed him opportunities to work in the oil fields, as a rigger. Then through training he began his journey into crane operating; not to mention his side businesses. When he wasn’t working, he was usually helping someone. He loved having conversations with his elders and always learned from them (some took longer than others).
But there is one quality that stands out the most; his family. His family was everything to him; not just immediate family but extended family, work families, community families, and friends that became family. His heart was true. You know what you got, always. Luke made lots of mistakes, but he always owned up to those mistakes, and if he didn’t learn from them the first time, he certainly did the second time.
Luke was a gentleman. He treated his wife, mother, sister and all other women with respect. His heart was big and bold, but the only time gets soft was for his wife.
He loved Madison with all of his heart and feet and those two brought a lot of joy and happiness to each other for many years. I wish it could have been longer but let us not be sad about these things and about his presence being gone but glad that we had it.
