

Lula graduated from Business Communications and received a Teaching Certificate from Brownwood Community College.
Lula worked for the Internal Revenue Service and then after her marriage to Mr. Donald Blake in August 1985, she and her husband became the owners of Blake's BBQ.
She was a member of League of Women Voters of Houston, she volunteered at Rosewood and West Houston Hospital and had a passion for honoring God, her family, her husband, her dogs and gardening.
Lula is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Mr. Donald Blake; her sons Rollin J. Hunter (Janet) and Randall E. Smith; daughters Regina L. Smith (Bobby Rose) and Raenell D. Murphy (Kevin); grandchildren Ryan Hunter (Elicia), Jessica Stewart (Joe), Jon Hunter, Emily High (Michael Krill), Rory Smith, Clenique Nilsson (Robert) and Shenay Paul (Coach); great-grandchildren Ean, Ryen, Rylee and Reagan; one sister Shirley Waldrup.
We will Celebrate a Life Well Lived on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow the services at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
