Luong Tan Phu

Phu was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and work. Born in Đà Nẵng, Việt Nam on June 16, 1955, Phu was the eldest son in a family of five, a role he embraced with responsibility and care. He proudly served his country for two years during the Vietnam War, demonstrating the same dedication and integrity that would define his entire life. For over 30 years, Phu excelled in his career in finance and accounting, earning the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of his professional life, he was deeply committed to his faith and community, serving as Vice Chairman of the Board for Our Lady of La Vang Catholic Church for 20+ years. His leadership and devotion to the church were a testament to his strong beliefs and commitment to faith.

Phu was a man with a vibrant personality, known for his easygoing and friendly nature. He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making everyone feel welcome and valued in his presence. He had a great sense of humor that could light up any room and a refined taste in music that he loved to share with those around him. Phu was a devoted family man, married to his beloved wife, Victoria Luong, for 37 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Christine Luong and Joseph Luong, who will forever cherish his memory and the values he instilled in them.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and integrity will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

A visitation for Luong will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at External Service Location, 12320 Old Foltin Rd, Houston, TX 77086. A visitation will occur Friday, August 23, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champion, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, 12320 Old Foltin Rd, Houston, TX 77086. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
