Lydia Barcenas Sanchez

She was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico on August 3, 1945. She moved to the United States at the age of five years old. At the age of twenty-one she eventually moved to Huntsville, Texas where she met the love of her life, Mr. Carlos Sanchez Sr. She was married to Carlos Sanchez Sr. on February 10, 1966. They shared fifty-four years of adoration, compassion and an inseparable romance.

Lydia Sanchez was a domestic engineer as well as an outstanding businesswoman who worked from home. Her work consisted of managing “Carlos Sanchez Landscaping”, a successful landscaping business established by herself and Mr. Carlos Sanchez Sr.

Mr. Carlos Sanchez and Mrs. Lydia Sanchez were proudly devoted church parishioners of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. They were committed members for over forty years.

She also had a passion for gardening the most beautiful blooming flowers and plants. Cooking and baking for her family and friends. As well as family outings and gatherings with her prayer group “Legion De Maria”.

She is survived by, Husband; Carlos Sanchez Sr., Son; Carlos Sanchez Jr.; Daughters, Luisa Contreras and Lydia Sanchez; Grandchildren, Maritza ‘Marie’ Garcia, Bianca Lydia Contreras, Isabella Hacker, Adolfo C.J. Contreras, Jadyn Alida Fields and Kairo Prince Fields; Great-Grandchildren, Jesse Gutierrez, Jeremiah Gutierrez and Calliopi Garcia; and 12 brothers and sisters that she loved and adored very much.

Services will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5430 W. Ridge Creek Dr., Houston, Texas 77053 on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 with a Visitation to begin at 10:30a.m., Church Mass beginning at 12:00p.m., followed by an Interment at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, at 3:00pm; 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, Texas 77077.
