Lydia graduated from San Isidro High School. She met Armando Ramirez at a dance in San Isidro, and they were married on October 28, 1958. Lydia had a career as a parts clerk at Montgomery Wards for 32 years. She had a passion for singing and dancing. Lydia also loved to sew, plan parties, and take care of all her babies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Armando Ramirez; sisters, Ceclia Corona, and Marcella Salazar; brothers, Encarnación Rodriguez, and Pablo Rodriguez; grandson, Anthony Ramirez; sons-in-law, Ruben Ramirez and Raul Robles.
Lydia is survived by her daughters, Leticia Robles, Lorrie Ramirez Lumb, Maria McDaniel; sons, Edward Ramirez (Sylvia), Armando Ramirez Jr. (Karen); grandchildren, Aaron Ramirez (Kristie), David Lumb II, Christy Nightengale (Eric), Stephen Lumb (Aide), Levi McDaniel (Nancy), Lydia Harrison (Kenneth), Edward Ramirez (Kim), Jon Ramirez (Brandy), Amanda Ramirez, Robert Gutierrez (Misty), Charles Gutierrez, Eric Gutierrez, Savannah Jones (Michael), Kaylee Oritz (Joe), and Zachary Ramirez (Jessica); brothers, Edward Rodiguez and Harold Rodriguez (Minerva); and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Lumb II, Edward Ramirez, Jon Ramirez, Stephen Lumb, Zachary Ramirez, Levy McDaniel, and Aaron Ramirez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Gutierrez, Charles Gutierrez, and Eric Gutierrez.
A visitation for Lydia will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the same location, with a graveside service to follow at Brookside Memorial Park, at the same address.
