

She was born on the 4th of September 1940, in Red Bud, Illinois, to Arthur G. Koopman and Leonore Werre Koopman.
Lynda graduated from St. John Lutheran Grade School, Chester High School and the University of Illinois, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1962, and her Master’s degree with honors in1967. She was employed by the Army Ordinance Command in Joliet, Illinois, and in 1967, by Shell Development Company in Houston.
She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois, and was an active member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Houston. After retirement, she volunteered at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, enjoyed playing bridge, going out with friends, seeing plays and concerts and occasional sporting events.
Lynda was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Robert Koopman; sister-in-law, Nancy; and nieces, Tracey and Elizabeth Koopman.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from nine until eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 12th of December, in the Commons of Memorial Lutheran Church, 5800 Westheimer Road in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning, also on Monday, in the Sanctuary of Memorial Lutheran Church, where the Rev. Dr. Scott Murray, Senior Pastor, is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Fellowship Hall.
