He was the greatest man, husband, father, grandfather & friend that ever walked this earth. He had the kindest & gentlest of heart - his patience, love & caring towards others was abundant & overflowing. When he walked in a room, you truly felt his presence. He was a true friend to everyone. He had no enemies & was a stranger to no one.
* Worked for Southern Pacific Railroad his entire life
* Served in the United States Marine Corp as Corporal - Korean War Veteran who actively participated in the Wosan-Hungnam-Chosin Campaign operations in Northern Korea & against enemy forces in South & central Korea.
PawPaw loved God, his country, Amy Elizabeth - the love of his life for over 60 years, his two grandsons whom he loved and adored & endless family & friends. He loved barbecue & made the best brisket in the entire state of Texas. He was passionate about football, Texas A&M Aggies, sports, hunting, reading the newspaper, playing the casino slots and sitting beside the fireplace on a chilly fall day. But his favorite past time of all was spending time with his two beloved grandsons. He had also had spent the last 15 years of his life caring lovingly & unselfishly for his beloved Amy Elizabeth now in the final stage of Alytheimers, never leaving her side.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Amy Elizabeth, a loving daughter (who worshipped the very ground that her father walked upon), two admirable grandsons, one angel of a great daughter-in- law, 3 beautiful great grandchildren & countless family members & friends who loved him dearly & will miss him forever.
The Woods Family request that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made in his name to The Wounded Warrior Project.
