

The Brownell, Darby and Wilson families announce the home-going of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, Mai Darby Brownell. Mai was a devout Christian, an ordained Pastor, a servant of God, and a tireless worker in the vineyard, who carried others burden and labored for those in need. She quietly went to be with her Loving Creator on Sunday morning, September 3, 2023.
Mai leaves to cherish her memories, her Husband: Pastor Mishael (Mickey) Brownell, Children: Mario Brownell (Alicia), M.D. Brownell III (Tyra), Danny Brownell (Jade), Ahmad “Jay” Brownell, Ronak Dalal (Nakiera), Siblings: D. Colden Wilson (Maureen), Alliette Wilson-Perkins (Bennie), Wendell Wilson (Rachelle), Rev. Preciouse Wilson (Loretta), Barbara Darby, Enid Darby-Bettie, Chalnicia Darby-Snyder (Jimmy), Natalie Darby-Cassell (John), Charles Darby, Jr, Cecil Darby, Louis Darby, Minister Annie Johnson, Olivia Savage Thorpe (Nathaniel), Wynston Wilson, Delcina Sayeh, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of close relatives and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her sister: Davidetta Wilson, her mother: Cerue J. Dunn Darby, her father: Charles William Darby, Sr., and her brother Charles (Albert) Darby.
A visitation for Mai will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand Parkway Baptist Church, 12000 FM 1464, Richmond, TX 77407.
A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 12000 FM 1464, Richmond, TX 77407.
A committal service will occur Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
