With heavy hearts, the Villaseñor family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Manuel J. Villaseñor. His sharp wit, dry sense of humor, warm heart, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by so many.
Manuel Villaseñor passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on May 11, 2021 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife Margarita Villaseñor; children: Veronica, Alicia, and Luis Villaseñor, Roberto Hinojosa, and Carlos De León; and grandchildren: Elizabeth, Evelyn, Roberto Manuel, and Luis Martin Hinojosa as well as extended family and friends. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Manuel J. Villaseñor was born on February 17, 1948 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Martin Villaseñor and Maria Cayetana Juarez. Manuel married Margarita De León on December 29, 1974 in Reynosa. Manuel began working for various oil companies after moving to Houston in 1984 and later retired from Brown and Root. Manuel’s high energy made him a natural entertainer; he shared his life with all, made them feel welcomed with his quick wit, great conversation, beautiful singing and love for poetry. His admiration for the Houston Astros was only second to his all-time favorite team, the New York Yankees.
A wake is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6 pm – 9 pm. With the funeral service taking place on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:30 pm. The wake and funeral service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Manuel's life.
