Juan Leal and Maria Concepción Galván.
Being one of the oldest of 14 siblings and born into a family of farmers, her days were spent helping her parents in the fields, caring for her younger siblings and the household chores.
On April 6, 1940, Manuela Leal married Francisco Garza and they were blessed with four children: Gloria Guadalupe, Angelica, Aida De La Luz and Francisco (Frank).
She immigrated with her family to the United States in 1954, to make a better life for them, and became a citizen of the country she loved so much.
Manuela was a very special and talented person, at a very early age she taught herself to sew, crochet and embroider. She also had a great passion for cooking, playing cards (loteria) and traveling with her family. She would always help anyone in need and she had a great sense of humor. Everyone whose lives she touched and loved will miss her. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Francisco, a daughter, Gloria, 4 sisters, 6 brothers and two grandsons. Manuela is survived by 4 siblings: Maria De La Luz, Maria Antonia, Inocencio and Maria Concepcion; daughters Angelica and Aida, son: Frank; 9 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, in-laws, nephews and nieces and many other relatives.
We are fortunate to have so many wonderful and loving memories of such an amazing person. Manuela will always be in our prayers and forever be in our hearts.
