Marcia Anne Posey

Marcia was born to James and Marjorie Hood, on Mother’s Day May 9, 1943, in Houston, TX. She graduated from Milby High School in 1961. She married William “Bill” Posey in January of 1963, and the family was making plans to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary next month. Together they raised five children: Michelle, Lane, Jennifer, Mark, and Marci.

Marcia is survived by Bill, her husband of nearly 60 years, daughter Michelle Regan and husband Tom, daughter Jennifer Christen and husband Brad, son Mark Posey and wife Meaghan, and daughter Marci Vinciguerra and husband Dante, her grandchildren Ashton Posey, Taylor Brown, Hannah and Benjamin Christen, Giavanna, Asia, Dominic and Damian Vinciguerra, and Jaxon Posey. Also, surviving Marcia is great-grandchild Stelina “JoJo” Brown, and her brother, Richard Hood.

Marcia is preceded in death by parents James and Marjorie Hood, son Lane Posey, brothers Jimmy and David Hood, and sister-in-law Jeannine Fletcher.

Marcia had 3 big loves in her life: children, family and travel. Marcia spent her lifetime pouring into and giving to children either through her various jobs or her ministry in the churches she and Bill attended over the years. Moreover, Marcia loved spending time with her multiple grandchildren and great-grandchild. They were the center of her world, and she spent her time visiting them as often as possible. Additionally, her and Bill spent their time traveling. With grandkids located all over the US, they were able to combine those loves and spend quality time with family.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 12:00 pm on December 29, 2022, at First Baptist Church Friendswood in Friendswood, TX, with an opportunity to visit with the family immediately after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
