Marcus attended UT El Paso and later received his BS in Engineering from the University of Houston. He served in the US Army during the 1950's and was stationed in Germany.
Marcus married Sharon Gasaway in 1961. As newlyweds they bought their first home, raised their two children, and celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in the same home. After retiring as a structural design supervisor with Fluor, Marcus devoted his considerable talents to his woodworking hobby. As a member of the Houston Woodworking Club, he enjoyed their friendships and their projects, especially making hundreds of handmade toys for local children supported by Goodfellows. The gifts he crafted in his workshop are treasured reminders to family and friends of Marcus, a hardworking and very kind man.
Marcus is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Sharon G. Brun, sister Cyrene Faye Collins of Hollidaysburg PA; son Bruce A. Brun of Centerville, OH; daughter Andrea Brun Keeler and husband Daniel of Midland Texas and also his grandchildren Christopher and Lauryn Brun of Nashville, TN and also Diana and Andrew Keeler of Midland, TX.
A memorial service will be Saturday, January 21st at 3:00pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Marcus; or at the Michael J. Fox Foundation dedicated for Parkinson's Research at michaeljfox.org.
