Born on January 11, 1958 to Mary and George Hubbard, Marcus began his life in Oxnard, California. As he grew up along the side of his older sister Joscelynn and younger brother Jon Paul, it was quickly apparent to all that he had a passion for music, compassion for others, and always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was a part of a very tight knit family where first cousins were more like brothers and sisters. A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, it is often said that no matter where he went, there wasn’t a stranger that he didn’t know – only new friends.
Marcus was raised in the church under the guidance of his beloved uncle, Pastor W. J. Profit. He accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where he maintained membership the majori-ty of his life. After graduating from Waltrip High School in 1976, he dove straight into adulthood head first. He married the love of his life, Janet Hammonds, and together they raised their daughters, LaTasha and Angie. Known for his charm and powers of persuasion, he utilized his talents in a career in sales though he continued to pursue his dream of singing. His mu-sic pursuits led to opportunities from Houston to Michigan, and led to the production of a collaborative album.
In later years, Marcus redirected his focus from work to family and friends. Between being actively involved with his daughter and three grandchildren, he started traveling the world with some of his life-long friends.
Marcus leaves his daughter, LaTasha and son-in-law, Patrick Winters, Sr., Step-daughter, Angie, and grandchildren Ecclessia, Patrick Jr., Jaidyne, Donald, Caffrey, and Quincy; his sister Jos-celynn (Hubbard) Anderson and brother Jon Paul Richardson, Sr.; his aunts Lois Profit and Marie Timms; two nephews, five nieces, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Sinclair; his grand-parents Perry and Minnie Timms; and uncles and aunts: Pastor W.J. Profit, Dorothy Mae Profit, Charlie Timms, Marilynn Wil-liams, and Martha and James Phillips Sr.
