

Margaret was born in Houston on the 30th of June 1925. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1943 and then attended the University of Texas where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and served as President. Margaret was a member of the Late Bloomers Garden Club, The Junior League of Houston, Docent at Bayou Bend and a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. She also enjoyed the time she worked at VSP a branch of M. David Lowe.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, the late Mae Gilbert Peterson and Michael John Peterson; her beloved brother, Michael John Peterson, Jr.; and her precious son, Stephen Gilbert Anderson. She is survived by her four children, Alison Anderson Bailey, Thomas Alred Anderson, III and his wife Pat, David Michael Anderson and his wife Gretchen, and Richard Gilbert Anderson and his wife Melaine; her ten grandchildren, Monica Bickers, Alissa Bailey, Stephanie Bailey, Elizabeth Green, Addison Green, David Anderson Jr., Ashley Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Meredith Anderson, Richard Anderson, Jr.; and her two great grandchildren, David Anderson III and Bailey Bickers; and her sister-in-law Margaret Peterson Thompson and husband Sophus.
Margaret was a very loyal friend, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her love of Theta and the friendships that were nurtured throughout the years.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on
Wednesday, the 27th of July, in the Drawing Room of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 28th of July, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Founders’ Hall.
Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
