Margaret Louise Brown Darby, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021 in Brookshire, Texas in the care of her loving family.
A lifelong teacher, she cherished spending time in the great outdoors with loved ones and volunteering in parks all over the country with special connections to Yellowstone National Park & Brazos Bend State Park. She also shared a special devotion to her faith communities, Holy Family (Stafford) & St. Edith Stein (Katy) Catholic Churches and the rosary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen H Brown and Marie (Pazie) Brown, beloved husband, Pervis A Darby, and son, Clifford D Darby.
Survivors include children, Richard (Ricky) Darby and wife, Debora; Thomas (Tad) Darby and wife, Kim; Monica McMurtry and husband, Clark; Marie (Teri) Ashley and husband, Culter (CT); brother, Allen Brown and wife, Carolyn; 8 loving grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild plus numerous other dear relatives and cherished loved ones.
The family wish to thank her caregivers, Dennee Sokso, Angelique Buntrock, Sally Phillips, Tiffany Kincaid and Maria Izquierdo for their devotion and compassionate care.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:30 am followed by the Holy Rosary at 12noon. The Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church (3311 N Fry Rd) in Katy, TX. Burial will follow at the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery (12800 Westheimer Rd) in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yellowstone Forever (the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park) or Alzheimer’s Association.
