Margaret Sides

Marge was dedicated to her career in commercial communications at Southwestern Bell and later AT&T, she retired in 1990 after thirty years of service.

Her volunteerism included Meals on Wheels as well as other charities, then decided to attend tax school and worked at H&R Block for several years as a tax preparer.

She was the oldest of eight siblings. She loved animals, especially her cat Bootsie. Her hobbies included gardening, woodworking, sewing and the Houston Astros. She also was an exquisite cook and baker. She loved finding new recipes and baking a special birthday cake for family members and friends.

Marge loved her family and was a caretaker for others her entire life. Her selfless spirit and courage in the most difficult circumstances was a testament to the love she radiated to the entire world and a true inspiration to her family. She was everyone’s North Star. She was patient and kind. She will be missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Boyd Lee Sides.

She is survived by daughter, Sandy & husband Shawn Rodeck; son Steve Sides, sister, Merry Valdez, brother in law, George Valdez, sister, Lucy Sanders, sister in laws, Princella Vogel and Ola Cook along with her beloved furry companion, Bootsie, her cat.

All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 on September 3, 2021. Visitation from 1:00-2:00pm. Funeral Service at 2:00 pm followed by Committal Service at 3:00pm.
