Margaret Ann Whalen Trahan of Houston passed away Wednesday morning at her home. She was 79 years old. Her passing was peaceful, surrounded by her family. Margaret lived her entire life in Houston. She retired from Schlumberger after 20 years and worked an additional 10 years with Compaq Computers. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Alfred Whalen and Mary Lou Guillory; her husband of 48 years, Leonard Arnold Trahan Sr.; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by daughter Monica Knighton (Terry); son Leonard Arnold Trahan Jr. (Denise); son Steven Trahan; daughter Cheryl Scott; grandchildren, Andrea Knighton-West (Stuart), Cydney Knighton, Danyell Jackson, Brittany Trahan, Chelsey Trahan, Leonard Trahan III, and Erin Scott; great-grandchildren Bryce West and Bennett West. Also surviving are 4 sisters, Delores Whalen, Hilda Smith, Anjeliea Gabriel, and Carolyn Houston; and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10AM at St. John Neuman Catholic Church, 2730 Nelwood, Houston, TX 77038. The viewing will be from 9-10AM before the Mass. Interment will follow at Paradise North.
