Margie Louise Crisp, age 81, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10th 2019. She was born the eldest of four children to Frank Tucker Rash and Gladys Rash (Vercher) in Nacogdoches, Texas on May 19th 1937. She was married for 66 years to Otha “Johnny” Crisp who preceded her in death in November 2018.
Margie was a great woman. A wearer of many hats. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, advocate and critic. Many would look to her for her advice or for help in solving one of life’s problems. She always seemed to have an answer and would make you feel at ease.
She enjoyed music of all genres as long as it was good. A lover of good food, good drink and good times. All of which, she always had a hand in creating. Considered the Matriarch or the Rock of the Crisp Family, her passion was making sure that everyone was healthy, happy and cared for. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she made sure that all who attended one of the infamous Christmas Eve get-togethers left with memories that would not be forgotten.
She loved to fish but mostly catch! Many don’t know that she was a golfer and a bowler. She spent her professional career as an Executive Assistant in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Margie’s life is a true example of selflessness. She would do anything for those in need and never bat an eye. In fact, in her later years, it was hard for her to let others help her. It was just her nature to be the one who provided the help.
Margie is survived by her sister, Gladys Geraldine McFerrin, two sons, Steve and Jason and their families, seven grandchildren, Noah, Naomi, Rachel, Amber, Brittany, Mandee, and Jay and five great-grandchildren, Owen, Desmond, Jacob, Leah and Frankie Sloane as well as a long list of relatives and friends.
A celebration of Margie’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, TX 77039.
In lieu of flowers, Margie wished for donations to be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
