Margie worked at Clarke and Courts Printing Company before staying at home to raise her family. Later she went to work in the food service department for Spring Branch ISD. After many years of hard work, she retired to care for her husband of 49 years. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she was devoted to the prayer team. She was a strong Christian with a steadfast love for God and an unwavering faith, even in the most difficult times. She was a loving Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother who always put the needs of family before her own. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She had a unique sense of humor and always made us laugh throughout her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, sister Mary Hoffman, brother Ervin Hoffman and wife Wilma, sister Lorine Mattiza and husband Junius. She is survived by three daughters: Cheryl Kelm and husband Marvin, Carol Bayer and husband Doug, Janice Grant and husband Ron and one son: Norman Jr. and Barbara, eight Grandchildren: Sarah, Lindsay, Zachary, Brent, Brittany, Mindy, Kaitlyn and Lauryn , six Great Grandchildren: Dakota, Brooke, Jacob, Tucker, Ellie, and Dominic, sisters: Flora Mae Spaulding and husband James, Edna Hill, and brother: Sonny Hoffman and wife Cheryl.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to her many dedicated caregivers, who went above and beyond, providing care, love and companionship to her.
At some time before Margie became ill, she wrote some special words for her family to read when this time came. She wanted her Grandchildren to know “I love you all with all my Heart & Soul.” She also wrote “The beautiful and loving family I have. I’ve never been so proud. I’m so blessed to have all of you so close to me. I’ve never felt alone. I’m so thankful to God who had it all happen. I felt his love and care every time. He’s an ‘Awesome God’. Nothing is so precious than having a loving family and God to love you.”
