Maria Zavala Acosta, 91, passed into eternal rest on April 3, 2021. She was born December 22, 1929. Maria had an affinity for flowers and was the owner of her own flower shop, Acosta’s Flower Shop. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Left to cherish her memories are daughters Joann Acosta Aguirre, Marynn Acosta, son John Paul Acosta, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Those serving as pallbearers are: George Acosta, Bernard Aguirre, Jr., Christopher De La Rosa, Michael Gonzalez, Donald Herrera, Thomas Courtland Johnson, Homer Mendoza, and Pedro Valdez.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be Friday, April 9, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2405 Navigation, Houston, Texas 77003. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
