OBITUARY

Maria Angelica Gerbel

March 4, 1943November 5, 2018

Maria Angelica Gerbel was born in Argentina on the 4th of March 1943, and made her home for the last 50 years in these United States of America, caring for her family and traveling extensively with her husband. Maria left us to dance with the angels on Monday, the 5th of November 2018, after giving her family time to accept her departure from this world.

Maria’s passions were endless and extensive. She loved to garden, cook amazing dinners, study art, listen to music, attend the theater and ballet and travel the world. As an adult, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Houston. She founded the International Ladies Club of Kingwood, participated in the Republican Women’s Club and played tennis as often as possible. But, every day she demonstrated her love for her husband and child. She lived a bountiful life!

Maria is survived by her husband, daughter, siblings, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was lovingly cared for in her final years by her husband, as well as, Francis Cordova in Albuquerque, the caretakers at Autumn Leaves in Houston, the staff at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, Dignity Hospice and the caring team at Eagle’s Trace.

Friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances of Maria from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 16th of November, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive.

In lieu of customary remembrances, her family suggests memorial contributions be directed toward the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Ste. 800, Miami, FL 33131.

Maria Angelica Gerbel: Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend… and, each and every day… the feisty lady we all loved…

“Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.” Laura Ingles Wilder
