Maria M Gonzalez, 91, passed away on September 15, 2026. Born on March 25, 1935, Maria was from Harlingen TX, and was a cherished presence to all who knew her, remembered for her kind heart, thoughtful ways, and generous spirit.
Those closest to Maria will remember the steady warmth she brought to everyday life. She offered care in quiet moments, and made others feel seen and valued. Her gentle nature and beloved presence were felt most in the simple joys she enjoyed, including singing and doing crossword puzzles.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Cruz and Juan Maldonado, her brothers, Juan Maldonado, Adan Maldonado, Agapito Maldonado.
Maria is survived by her sisters, Eva Perez and her husband Roy Garcia, and Lupe Maldonado, her children, Elvia and Alberto Garza, Jesus Gonzalez, Mary Lou and Jessie Cantu, Martin and Francis Gonzalez, numerous grand children, great grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087, US, on September 24, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo on September 24, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 5560 Laurel Creek Way, Houston, TX 77017, on September 25, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, US, on September 25, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
