Maria Rosario “Chayo” Hernandez, de Houston, Texas, falleció por causas naturales el Octubre 24 de Octubre, rodeada de su seres queridos. También fue llamada Chayito, Bita/Pita por sus nietos y bisnietos, Huevito por Lito, y en El Salvador la conocían como La Coronela.

Maria vino a los Estados Unidos y dedico su vida creciendo a sus nietos y bisnietos, Kristian, Jacqueline, Ashley, Sean, Caleigh y después disfruto su tiempo con Avery y Grayson. Ella pasaba su tiempo libre en las tiendas con Maria “Betty” y Veronica, viendo sus novelas y Property Brothers, y escuchando música y bailando. Todos la conocían como una mujer dulce, llena de amor y cariño para todos. Ella era la Abuelita de todos los niños en su vecindario. Ella amaba a sus pájaros y perros, pero los amores de su vida era su familia cercana.

Ella era una señora muy positiva y llena de fe. Ella oraba por sus seres queridos diariamente y siempre nos daba su bendición. ¡Le encantaba colectar perfumes, lociones, ¡y bolsitas donde escondía dinero y joyas – y después no se recordaba donde los ponía! Tenía una personalidad tan dulce, que hasta las enfermeras y doctores se enamoraban de ella. ¡Hasta hacia amistades en las líneas de las tiendas!

Maria era la matriarca de la familia y deja a Betty Alvarenga, Lito Hernandez, Coralia Alvarez (y sus hijos Christopher, Edgar, y Celeste), Veronica Aguillon (y su hija Caleigh), Kristian Brizuela (y su esposa Ami y hijos Ashley y Sean), Jacqueline Alvarenga Gerber (y su esposo Jesse y hijos Avery y Grayson), Luis Alvarenga, Margarita Montoya, Luis Alonso Sosa, y Herbert de la O, las perritas, y mucha más familia, amistades y ser queridos. Sabemos que ella está en el Cielo orando por todos.

La velación se llevara a cabo el Viernes, Noviembre 1 de 2024 9 a.m. a 8 p.m. El servicio Católico será 5:30 p.m. a 6:30 p.m., seguida por oraciones Cristianas. El funeral se llevará a cabo el Sábado, Noviembre 2 de 2024 a la 1 p.m. A Maria le encantaba los colores alegres, y sus colores favoritos eran rosa y rojo. Pedimos que lleguen en rosa o rojo para el día de su entierro para honrar la persona que era ella – una persona llena de amor y la más brillante de las vidas que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

La familia también quiere agradecer a los doctores y enfermeras de Memorial Hermann Hospital y a las señoras que le dieron cuido, Teresa y Concepción.

Maria Rosario "Chayo" Hernandez, of Houston, Texas, died of natural causes on October 24, surrounded by her loved ones. She was also called Chayito, Bita/Pita by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Huevito by Lito, and in El Salvador she was known as La Coronela.

Maria came to the United States and dedicated her life raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kristian, Jacqueline, Ashley, Sean, Caleigh and later enjoyed her time with Avery and Grayson. She spent her free time shopping with Maria "Betty" and Veronica, watching her soap operas and Property Brothers, and listening to music and dancing. Everyone knew her as a sweet woman, full of love and affection for everyone. She was “Abuelita” to all the children in her neighborhood. She loved her birds and dogs, but the loves of her life were her close family.

She was a very positive woman and full of faith. She prayed for her loved ones daily and always gave us her blessings. She loved collecting perfumes, lotions, and bags where she hid money and jewelry – and then she couldn't remember where she put them! She had such a sweet personality that even nurses and doctors fell in love with her. She even made friends with strangers in the grocery store register lines!

Maria was the matriarch of the family and leaves behind Betty Alvarenga, Lito Hernandez, Coralia Alvarez (and her children Christopher, Edgar, and Celeste), Veronica Aguillon (and her daughter Caleigh), Kristian Brizuela (and his wife Ami and children Ashley and Sean), Jacqueline Alvarenga Gerber (and her husband Jesse and children Avery and Grayson), Luis Alvarenga, Margarita Montoya, Luis Alonso Sosa, and Herbert de la O, her beloved dogs, and countless family, friends and loved ones. We know that she is in Heaven praying for everyone.

The viewing will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Catholic service will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by Christian prayers. The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1p.m. Maria loved cheerful colors, and her favorite colors were pink and red. We ask that you wear pink, red, or a bright color of your choice for the day of her burial to honor the person she was – a woman full of love and the brightest person to all who had the privilege to meet her.

The family also wants to thank the doctors and nurses at Memorial Hermann Hospital and the women who took care of her, Teresa and Concepción.
