Kathy Vu was a devout Catholic at Christ the Incarnate Word Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. She was an active member in the parish and participated in several church groups. One of her favorite hobbies was bringing everyone together in the kitchen, a place she referred to as the most important room in the house. Her natural cooking talent, distinguished pallet, and pure joy through gathering and feeding others made her a well-loved chef to all, especially her family and friends.
Kathy was a true pioneer, through extreme dedication and determination she sought out to conquer all of her dreams. She relentlessly applied herself to several occupations in order to provide for her family and was able to overcome obstacles that allowed her to become an independent business owner. During her business career, she opened a successful restaurant, convenient store, and multiple salon studios which are still in operation today.
Kathy was a two-time kidney transplant recipient in Jan 2001 and May 2019. This life changing experience was very near to her heart and she proudly represented being an organ recipient. In dedication to our beloved Mother, and her vow to give back for the blessings she received, we have created a foundation in her honor. Cookies 4 Life, the foundation represents our Mother's wish to give back and help others to give them a second chance at life. We are honored and humbled to be able to have our Mother's legacy continue and be celebrated in her memory. Kathy Tran Vu lived a rich and happy life.
