Marian Irene Reid

Marian Irene Reid passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, the 10th of February, 2022, at the age of 87. She was born on the 11th of November, 1934 in Park City, Montana, and moved to Houston in 1962.

She was an active member of St, Matthew Lutheran Church for over 40 years, serving with the Ladies Circle, LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League), and the Altar Guild. Through those organizations, lifelong friends were made. Marian was a woman of faith and conviction and a true matriarch.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Reid, DMD; her second husband, Eugene Tomol; her brother, William Hergett; sisters-in law, Irene and Dora Hergett; and niece, Karen Hergett. She is survived by her children; Lawrence Reid and his wife Jackie, Jeffrey Reid and his wife Karen, and Kimberly Huwyler; her brothers, Edward Hergett and his wife Dorothy, and Ernest Hergett; grandchildren, Rachel, Forrest, Abigail, Zachary, Griffin, Cameron, Kari and Raymond; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Nicholas, Luna and Aubrey; Gene’s extended family, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Reunion Court of the Woodlands where Marian lived for over the last four years, and to Heart to Heart Hospice for the care they provided to Marian.

A funeral service for Marian will be conducted at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 21st of February, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5315 Main Street in Houston. The family will receive friends during a visitation in the church which is to commence prior to the service at half-past nine o’clock.

Following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception at the church.

Interment will follow that afternoon at one o’clock at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
