Marianne Beth Johnson

Marianne Beth Petern Johnson, age 84, of Cypress, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Marianne was born in Gary, Indiana on October 10, 1940 to James and Marjorie Petern. Because of her father’s profession, she lived in numerous states and even Beirut, Lebanon. Marianne graduated from Texas Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She met Wade Johnson, Jr. at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, TX and they were married there on October 24, 1964. Marianne worked at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth and later at Tiffany Walk Assisted Living in Tomball, TX.

Marianne was a loving wife and mother. She was very active in her community and church where she facilitated an Alzheimer’s Support group and was one of the founding members of Fifty Plus Adult Ministry. Marianne was also a volunteer firefighter in Cypress, TX and served in other volunteer roles in her neighborhood and daughters’ schools.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Lancaster and Katherine Mankin, their spouses David Lancaster and Art Mankin, 3 grandchildren, Matt Lancaster, Lindsey and Brandon Mankin, and 2 great-granddaughters.
