Marie Bridget Bennett

Marie Bennett of Katy, Texas, passed away Friday December 11 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born May 7 in Bronx, NY, she was the beautiful daughter of John and Della Howard. Growing up in an Irish household, Marie was an award winning Irish step dancer. She graduated Brewster High School in 1962. In 1964 Marie married the love of her life, Bob Bennett. Their romance lasted over 57 years. Together they had three children, Robert, Nancy, and James. But her most precious diamonds were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A long time resident of Katy, Texas, Marie was a member of St Bartholomew Catholic Church in Katy, Texas. This is where her devotion and faith to the Lord blossomed. Marie was also a successful inside sales representative for a Industrial Pipe distributor Radnor Alloys. She was a pioneer for women in industry and was the first woman awarded for Supplier Quality Performance at Fluor.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Bennett, and three loving brothers - Kevin Howard, Steven Howard and Bobby Howard. She is survived by her brothers, John Howard (Denise) Gerard Howard (Lisa);her beloved cousin Claire Mulvihille; her three children, Robert Bennett (Melissa), Nancy Cottrell (Joe), and James Bennett;eleven grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and a host of extended family and friends across the nation.

The Bennett family would like to extend a special thank you Fr. John Kha Tran for being a loyal servant to our Lord. He came to visit with mom on several occasions throughout her journey to her heavenly home. We would also like to extend a thank you to A-Med Hospice Staff, Dr. Willie Pezzia and Dr. Philip Berman for their commitment to our mother’s health and wellbeing through the years.
