Marie T. Caldwell

Marie T. Caldwell peacefully passed away on May 20, 2015. Marie was born July 16, 1925 on Staten Island, NY to Helen and Frank Goetz. She graduated from the Sacred Heart School and the Notre Dame Academy on Staten Island. Marie married Robert X. Caldwell in November 1953, and they moved to Houston with their family in 1963. Marie was an active member at St. Theresa’s Little Flower Thrift Shop, the St. Francis Assisi Family Guild, St. Cecilia’s Women’s Club and Alter Guild, Memorial Forest Garden Club, the Broken Needle, and the Houston Orchid Society.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Robert X. Caldwell, her brother, Donald Goetz, and her sister, Jean Hammerle. She is survived by her brother, Peter Goetz, and his wife, Lois; by her sister, Elaine Goetz; by her sister-in-law, Joan Goetz; and by numerous Goetz family nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her daughter, Marlene Caldwell; by her son, Andrew Caldwell; by her son, William Caldwell and Eric Perkins; and by her daughter, Patricia Caldwell Hemingway, and husband, Richard Hemingway, and their children, Caroline Harrell and her husband, John, and their son, Jack, Helen McLaughlin and husband, Barton, and Madeline Hemingway.

Marie’s family would like to thank caregivers Karen Davis, Jackie Brewer, and Tiffianee Brewer, as well as the staff at Holly Hall, for their loving care of Marie. Everyone loved Marie’s wonderful smile.

A funeral mass is to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, the 29th of May, in the sanctuary of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston. Immediately following the mass all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the Community Center.
