Marie Onelia Labrie

Onelia graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston in 1964. She attended college at Texas Southern University. She worked in accounts payable at Sakowitz in downtown Houston for some years before finally finding her passion for the field of child development. Onelia worked in childcare for many years in a variety of settings until she retired.

Onelia was a dedicated caregiver to her husband of 47 years. She was also a loving sister and mother. Her children were her pride and joy. She was also very willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Daniel and Catherine Guerra and her sisters Bernadette Guerra and Mary Margo Beaudion. She is survived by her husband Jimmie, son, James Jr., and daughter, Monica, as well as her sisters Yvette Chargois and Danielle Guerra, brother-in-law John Beaudion, and many nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 4000 Sumpter St., Houston, TX 77220. Visitation will be at 9:00am, followed by Rosary at 10:00am, and Mass at 11:00am. Burial to follow at 12:45pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston TX 77038.
