Marie Anne Todaro, 53, lost her valiant struggle with cancer on January 9, 2014. She was a native Houstonian, the daughter of Nick and Mageline Todaro and a proud descendant of the Italian immigrants that diligently shaped Houston culture a century ago. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1978. After briefly attending the University of Houston, she was employed as a bookkeeper in a variety of businesses. She grew to become an expert in software Quickbooks, Excel and E-bay. She often taught classes at HAL-PC where she was employed about 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Barney Slayton, US Army ; her sister Cathy Polito and her husband Nick; as well as two nephews, two grand nephews and, proudly, a grand niece, her namesake Penelope Marie Polito.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, January, 18, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A reception will follow in the Events Room at the funeral home.
