

She was born in Tecolotlan, Jalisco, Mexico on November 17, 1946. Marina Nunez graduated from Peparatoria, Tecolotlan and received a high school dimploma.
She married her love, August John Nunez, on August 23, 1969. They were happily married for over 50 years.
For many years, Marina had a career in childcare and working with the Catholic Church. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma. She had a amazing personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went from standing in lines at the mall or the going to the casinos.
She was an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and had a passion for sewing, fashion, jewelry, and hairstyling. Throughout her life she was constantly sewing dresses for her daughters and grandchildren. She also loved crocheting blankets and other miscellaneous crocheting pieces. Her crochet blankets will be treasured forever.
She was survived by children, Christina Nunez Desormeaux, Marcella (Marti) Derryberry; Grandchildren, Cristian Desormeaux and Sebastian Desormeaux, and Gaia Derryberry; Sisters, Dolores Huezo, Victoria Mincey, and Maggie Perez-Jorranillo; Brothers, Honorato Perez, Ramon, Perez, and Ignacio Perez.
She will be missed beyond measure and forever in our hearts.
