
Marinelle Anderson Roberson, age 97, a beloved figure and cherished member of The Woodlands community, passed away on June 21, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and a passion for life. Born on December 24, 1925, Marinelle lived a fulfilling and remarkable journey, touching the lives of all those fortunate enough to know her.
Growing up during the great depression instilled the values in her of hard work and a frugal lifestyle. It was at the Rotary club where she first encountered the love of her life, Dr. Ed Roberson,. Their meeting set the stage for a partnership built on love, mutual respect and shared values.
As “Dr. Ed” dedicated himself to his medical profession, Marinelle stood as a steadfast pillar of support by his side. Through long hours, tireless dedication, and numerous challenges, she provided unwavering encouragement and strength. Ed’s passion for healthcare and his relentless pursuit of helping others resonated deeply with Marinelle. She took immense pride in his service to the community and his role in establishing multiple hospitals in Tennessee and Texas.
Marinelle, as the devoted spouse of a physician, recognized the sacrifices and challenges that came with the profession. Her unwavering support enabled Ed to pursue his calling wholeheartedly, knowing that he had a partner who believed in his mission and shared his vision. Marinelle’s deep gratitude for Ed’s service and commitment to helping other became an intrinsic part of her identity. She saw the impact of their collective efforts and the positive transformation in countless lives. Together, they exemplified the true essence of a compassionate and loving partnership.
Marinelle was also a devoted mother to Tommy, Kurt, Robin, and Ed. Her love for her family transcended generations, with her grandchildren Molly, Josh, Matthew, and Beth lovingly referring to her as Mamaw.
An avid tennis player and skilled skier, Marinelle embraced an active and vibrant lifestyle. She was known among friends and family as an voracious reader, while her enthusiasm for big band music brought rhythm to her life and joy to those around her. Marinelle’s presence as a proud resident ambassador for Reunion Court will forever be remembered, as her tenacious and persevering nature left an indelible mark on the community.
A devout Christian, and member of the 1st Baptist Church of The Woodlands, Marinelle’s unwavering faith shone through in her everyday life. Her powerful presence and sense of style added a touch of flair to every gathering. With a love for fashion and dressing up, she effortlessly expressed her vibrant personality, particularly through the theme parties she enjoyed at Reunion Court.
A hobbyist at heart, Marinelle found happiness in creating scrapbooks and photo albums, and her love for painting allowed her to express her creativity and leave lasting impressions.
As we celebrate the life of Marinelle Anderson Roberson, we honor not only her remarkable qualities but also the profound impact she had as an unwavering supporter to her husband’s notable endeavors. Their legacy to service will be forever intertwined with the namesake of Roberson Middle School . As we bid farewell to Marinelle, may her legacy inspire us to embrace life with grace, love unconditionally, and pursue our passions with unwavering enthusiasm.
The funeral service to honor Marinelle’s life will be held on Sunday, July 9th at 2pm at the First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, located at 11801 Grogans Mill Road, The Woodlands, TX 77380.
