Mario Vega

Mario "Popeye" Vega passed away at Houston Methodist Hospital at 8:45 pm on April 6, 2022 at the age of 44 due to heart failure. Mario is preceded by his mother Angela Vega, his grandmother Rosa Moore and his aunts Virginia Lopez and Paula Flores.

Mario is survived by his grandmother Audocia Romero and father Sergio Vega Sr., his sisters Helen Campbell, Rosalinda Vega, Yolanda Castro and Juana Vega, brothers Sergio Vega Jr., Jorge Vega and Luis Vega. His brother in laws Taylor Campbell, Timothy Whitlock and Albert Castro, nine nieces, twelve nephews, one great nephew, and one great niece.

Mario is lovingly remembered by his girlfriend Xochil Cardona his loving family, amazing friends.

Mario was born in Levelland, Texas on December 3, 1977. He was known and loved for his kind heart, giving soul and his funny nature, he lived for his family and friends and would drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. He will forever be in our hearts.

The viewing will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery at 13001 Katy Fwy., Houston, TX 77079 on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 6 to 8pm.
